Candles Paraffin
We have been making paraffin candles from scratch for nearly 15 years now. First we made them at home on our back verandah. Then when we moved to our new shed in Blue Haze we built a special candle verandah where candles could be made safely in the fresh air, with water and gas burners at hand. It's where our old mate John hangs out with his paper and his radio.
Currently John makes all our paraffin candles in moulds, actually in a very "high tech" way in plumbing pipes with bungs on one end, wicks threaded through and held in place with plasticene and halved sate sticks! This is one example of the "playful ingenuity" in our motto.
In the past we have also made really beautiful hand dipped candles which we would love to make again, but they are extremely labour intensive. Perhaps next year! We have also made votive paraffin candles, which we are re designing.

Moulded Paraffin Candles
We make our moulded paraffin candles from scratch. They are scented all the way through with pure essential and a few fragrant oils which are specified. Inspiration for our chosen colours and fragrances has come from the surrounding environment of Broome and the Kimberley. These candles are high quality - they are made with 20 per cent stearine to handle tropical conditions and are over-dipped in a microcrystalline wax to help hold the shape and to give a glowing effect. They have Cable Beach or Roebuck Bay shell grit adhering to the lower quarter of the candle.
All candles are 5cm in diameter and come individually labelled, cello wrapped with a raffia tie. There are 2 sizes - 10 cm and 15 cm high.
